Is it okay to wear a tunic as a dress?

Is it okay to wear nothing underneath a tunic if it is long enough to cover what needs covering?

Is it okay not to wear jeans or leggings with tunic? Like just wear it like a dress?

Thanks in advance for your input.

I would say so as long as it is about 3 inches minimum longer then the end of the part that must be covered or over a bikini it would look great even if it hit that ‘doesn’t look right’ stage. Just be careful with stairs is my advice!

What can I wear with tunic dresses?

I’m a mother to a 18 month old and just starting to care about clothes again….it’s been a crazy 18 months. Anyway I have some tunic dress tops. I tried one of the shorter ones on with leggings but I just didn’t like the way my legs looked. I’m lean and feel I have chicken legs. What else can I wear these types of dresses with?

You can wear Skinny jeans, jean capris, leggings, or if the dresses are long enough nothing. You can also wear panty hose for cooler days and to make your legs look tanner. Make sure you have a dark wash skinny jean and and black leggings for lighter colored dresses, and and light colored leggings with darker colored dresses. NO GRAY LEGGINGS.

Dressing a Plus Size Apple Body

Every woman wants to look her very best at all times. In order to dress in the most flattering way, it helps to know what body type you are. If you have a full bust, thick waist, carry weight in you upper back, and appear top heavy you have what is referred to as an apple body type. Apple body types tend to have thin arms, hips and legs in comparison to the torso.

If you are an apple there are certain fashion rules that you should follow in order to achieve your best look. You will want to avoid tops with ruffles that accentuate your heavier upper half. Along the same line, you should not wear tops with puffy sleeves, as it will only accentuate the largest area of your body.

You can camouflage your stomach region by wearing garments with empire waist. Tops should cover the tummy area and fall approximately mid hip or lower. tunic tops can work nicely for an apple shaped woman. Necklines such as a v-neck, brings attention to the face.

Boat neck tops can be worn to achieve the same effect. Wearing an attention-getting necklace, in addition, will also help emphasize your face. Layering a shirt over a tank top is a flattering look for apples. Wearing a low slung belt can help to minimize the derriere.

Although it is tempting to showcase your thin legs, apples should avoid wearing skinny pants. An exception to this rule, however, is if you pair skinny pants, or leggings, with a long tunic top. This look can actually help make your body appear more balanced. Flared capris can work nicely and will show off you slender ankles.

Generally, you should wear wide-legged pants as this will also help to balance your body. Look for jeans with both front and back pockets. This can help to hide your thick middle. Apples should avoid wearing pleated pants as this will only accentuate the stomach area. The same principles apply to choosing skirts.

Apples should not wear tight fitting skirts because, again, this will only accentuate the upper part of your body and make you appear even more top heavy. Look for skirts that are fuller and/or flare. In addition, be sure that the skirts you choose have high waistlines, which helps de-emphasize you middle region.

Although the apple shape is considered by some to be the most difficult body type to clothe properly, using the above hints can make an apple girl look her very best.

For an audition, should I dress nicely to look professional, or try to dress the part a bit?

I’m auditioning for the part of Meg in a high school rendition of Brigadoon, and I’m not sure if I should wear a nice blouse and look professional or try to dress the part so it would be easier for the director to see me as the character. Brigadoon takes place in Scotland in the 1800s, so if I dressed the part I would probably be wearing a long, grey pleated skirt with a tunic style shirt. If I dress nicely I’ll be wearing a black shirt with lace cap sleeves and jeans with ballet flats.
just dress like yourself . you do not need to be someone your not . thats what producers like in an actor/actress . always have an exciting personality . always keep the outgoing side of of when you’re around them . smile . && be yourself .

What’s the difference between babydolls and tunics? Some look like the same thing? Does it just depend on the brand selling them? Or are they two words for the same thing?

A baby doll is a shirt where its tight up to just below the bust, where it is very loose. A tunic is a long shirt, it doesn’t necessarily have to be a baby doll. It’s about the length of a minidress. You can get a baby doll tunic, it’s just a longer baby doll. They’re not exactly the same thing since tunics can be tight or loose. Baby dolls are always loose below the bust. It reminds my mother of a maternity shirt ;] You may see a baby doll being called a tunic or vice versa because that baby doll is long enough to be a tunic, or that tunic is loose below the bust.
