For an audition, should I dress nicely to look professional, or try to dress the part a bit?

I’m auditioning for the part of Meg in a high school rendition of Brigadoon, and I’m not sure if I should wear a nice blouse and look professional or try to dress the part so it would be easier for the director to see me as the character. Brigadoon takes place in Scotland in the 1800s, so if I dressed the part I would probably be wearing a long, grey pleated skirt with a tunic style shirt. If I dress nicely I’ll be wearing a black shirt with lace cap sleeves and jeans with ballet flats.
just dress like yourself . you do not need to be someone your not . thats what producers like in an actor/actress . always have an exciting personality . always keep the outgoing side of of when you’re around them . smile . && be yourself .

Was a Tunic Top the Original outfit for Leggings?

I wear black leggings for cross country and for sports related activities. I see the newer fashion for black leggings under a skirt or a tunic. And I was wondering, what were black leggings actually worn with originally, in the 80s/90s as casual wear? Were there loose fitting cuffed blouses? Really long t-shirts? Skivvy tops? women’s tunic tops? I remember when I was eight…I wore coloured patterned leggings with a loose, long skivvy top. Any clue what the original tops fashion was?

The original fashion was long, baggy sweaters or sweat shirts with larger, baggier necks(like a boatneck). for shoes, I think it was patent leather flats, or any flat shoe.

What is appropriate to wear to a winter wedding when you are the personal attendant?

I am a personal attendant for a winter wedding in North Dakota. I know I need to dress up, but I don’t really want to wear a dress. The wedding is somewhat casual, it’s in a very small town and more than likely most of the guests will be in jeans and cowboy boots. I was thinking about wearing a pencil skirt or a tulip skirt. Would a fitted blouse work with these skirts or will that be to informal?

I also have a peasant blouse and a tunic with a jeweled neckline that I thought might work. The problem with the tunic though is that it really only goes with my suede skirt, is the suede to informal as well? I am trying to go for something along these lines because it will be very cold there, the low is 10 degrees F, so I want to be comfortable as well as warm. I planned on changing into knee high boots after the ceremony. Please help.

i think a nice shirt, some gorgeous high heeled boots and dark pencil skirt would work…although it’s not how I’d ever dress yet I think you would since you wrote so

Where can I find trendy, professional clothes like tunics that aren’t too expensive?

I want suit jackets, dress pants, vests, and blouses to add to my wardrobe and I can’t find what I want. I like colorful clothes with tapered waists, I love tunics, and turtle neck t’s. I absolutely love pin stripe pants, and I also need a pair of stylish jeans. My shoe collection is pretty much on E also…

I wear a size 0 or 1…I’m 126lbs and I’m 5’4, but I like LONG pants. I don’t want to spend too much money….what do ya think? I always shop at the thrift store, but I’m exhausted when I leave because I have to look for soooo long. I love TJ Maxx, I haven’t been to Sears or JCPenny’s in years…I don’t care about name brands at all…but when I go to the thrift store I always find DKNY and Express.

Old Navy, Marshalls, T.J Maxx, Target, JC Penny, Sears You should be able to find a lot of decent priced items at some of those places
